Kamran Mallick
Disability rights leader shaping inclusive systems and policy.
Chief Executive of Disability Rights UK, working to embed lived experience into policy, employment and public life, and to shift inclusion from principle to practice.
About Kamran
Kamran Mallick is a leading voice in disability rights and inclusive policy whose work spans organisational leadership, systems change and strategic advocacy. He is the Chief Executive of Disability Rights UK, the largest UK-wide disabled persons organisation shaped by lived experience. In this role he leads national work on policy, employment, education and access, ensuring disabled people are central to decisions that affect their lives.
With over two decades in the disability sector, Kamran has held executive and leadership roles focused on structural inclusion. Prior to Disability Rights UK, he was Chief Executive of Action on Disability for 13 years, where he expanded inclusive youth services, strengthened employment pathways including supported internships, and secured a purpose-built headquarters to enhance organisational capacity.
Kamran's influence extends across governance and social investment. He serves as a trustee of the Lloyds Bank Foundation for England and Wales, where he contributes to strategy and grant-making that supports local disability-led initiatives. He also holds board roles with cultural and mobility organisations, including Lyric Hammersmith and Wheels for Wellbeing, reflecting his belief that inclusion must permeate every part of society.
Kamran combines lived experience with strategic insight. As a wheelchair user, he has long championed inclusive employment, accessible policy design and equitable public services. His work has been recognised in national lists celebrating Britain's most influential disabled people, and he is regularly invited to speak on inclusion, employment equity and rights-based policy.
At Calling All Minds Kamran brings his expertise in governance, policy and inclusive systems change to support the organisation's mission of transforming how institutions design and deliver inclusion. His perspective ensures lived experience informs strategy and drives accountable, structural impact.
"Inclusion must permeate every part of society — from policy to practice, from governance to grassroots."
